I live and work in the village of Blakeney near Almonte. The riverside is my source of inspiration. Foxes, Turtles and Otters, Beavers and many birds like Herons to Hawks to Red-winged Blackbirds are our neighbours. My own garden also provides me with a lot of inspiration, and as a potter, making objects that can live with or hold flowers and plants is fun and inspirational to me. Imagery drawn from our life by the river is unavoidable!
My stoneware planters should be brought indoors for the winter to avoid potential freeze / thaw issues. Even though they are high fired clay, they can still crack if wet soil freezes and expands in their heads and crowns.
I was trained in graphic design, painting and drawing at art college and then majored in Ceramic Art at Sheridan College. I have been a studio potter since the late 70's.
My work can be found at The General ( General Fine Craft.com) , at 260 Fingers.ca and at my studio by appointment.
